Sori Yanagi Cutlery

About Sori Yanagi

Born in 1915, he is one of the designers who had a significant influence on Japanese product design, creating works such as the "Butterfly Stool" which is permanently exhibited at MoMA (Museum of Modern Art, New York), the "Elephant Stool" used at the 1970 Osaka Expo, the "Stainless Steel Cutlery" which won the Good Design Award in 1974, and the design of the Olympic torch container for the 1946 Tokyo Olympics. In 1981, he was awarded the Purple Ribbon Medal of Honor for his achievements. Even after his death in 2011, his products continue to be loved by people around the world.
