Key Features

  • The popular and long-selling KUROMAKU series provides the world's first color-coded sharpening stones according to their coarseness.
  • The storage case allows you to carry the stone with ease and can also be used as a working base. The case is equipped with urethane rubber on four corners, preventing the stone from slipping when sharpening the edge with force.
  • This is a water stone, but can also be used as an oil stone.
  • You can use it to sharpen all kinds of knives except for knives made of ceramic and cemented carbide materials.
  • The #120-320 grit stones are suited for fixing the chipped blades. The #1000-1500 grit stones are perfect for everyday maintenance. You can use the #2000 or higher grit stones for extra sharp edges. Before sharpening your blade with the #30000 grit stone, please sharpen the edge with the #8000 grit stone.

Use & Care

  • You can use it after splashing the surface of the stone with water. Although there is no need to soak the stone in water, we recommend you to soak it for 5 to 6 minutes before using it for the first time. You will be able to sharpen the edge smoothly if you do.
  • Make sure to use the stone on the flat, stable and non-slippery surface.
  • Wash it well with water after use. Air dry and store it away from the direct sunlight.
  • In case a part of the stone is chipped after a fall, for example, make sure to smooth out the chipped part so that the blade won't be damaged when sharpening with it.
  • Do not sharpen knives made of ceramic and cemented carbide materials.
